
Kondakadalai Sundal (Chick Peas) is a traditional south Indian dish (originally from Tamil Nadu) prepared for naivedyam (Prasaadam) for poojas and Navarathiri Golu. Sundal is very tasty and very nutritious too. Sundal is prepared using different legumes. I like this version with white chickpeas the most.
Ingredients:
Chana(Chick Peas) – 1 cup
Seasoning:
Oil – 2 tsp
Mustard seeds – 1 tsp
Urad dal – 1 tsp
Curry leaves – 1 sprig
Dry red chilies – 3 nos
Asafodieta – a pinch
Shredded coconut – 2 tbsp
Salt – to taste
Method:
Soak chana dal for 8 hours.
Pressure cook the chana dal for 5 – 6 whistles.
Drain the extra water and keep aside.
In a pan add oil & add all the seasoning ingredients.
Now add the Chana dal and mix well add salt.
Kondakadalai Sundal is ready for Neivedyam.
